How it's calculated
Contributions are a percentage of your insurable income: your gross salary, but never more than the monthly cap. The cap is €2,111.64 from January to July 2026 and €2,300.00 from August to December 2026. Above it, contributions stay the same and only tax grows.
Your share is 13.78% in total. If you were born after 1959, part of your pension contribution goes to a universal pension fund (ДЗПО); if you were born before 1960 it all goes to the state fund. The total is the same either way.
Income tax is a flat 10% of the gross salary minus your contributions. The employer pays 18.52% on top of the gross salary, plus 0.4% to 1.1% for work accidents depending on the type of business. No contribution to the guaranteed receivables fund is due in 2026.
Each line is rounded to the cent, as on a payslip. The calculator covers a standard employment contract with no tax reliefs (for example for children or disability).
