On , 1 euro buys 1.1171 USD, 0.84512 GBP and 0.93127 CHF.

How it's calculated

Rates come from ExchangeRate-API, which combines central bank and market data, and update once a day. Every rate is quoted against the euro, so converting between two other currencies goes through the euro: 100 dollars in pounds is 100 ÷ the dollar rate × the pound rate.

These are mid-market rates, the midpoint between the buying and selling price. Banks, card providers and exchange offices add a margin on top, often 1–3% and more at airports and hotels, so check their rate before you exchange a large sum.

The result is rounded to the smallest unit of the target currency: to the cent for most currencies, to whole units for the Japanese yen, the Korean won and the Icelandic króna.

Questions people ask

Where do the exchange rates come from?

From ExchangeRate-API. The rates update once a day, and the date under the converter shows when they were last updated.

Is this the rate my bank will give me?

Usually not exactly. This is the mid-market rate. Banks and exchange offices sell currency a little above it and buy a little below it, and that difference is their fee.

Which currencies can I convert?

39: every currency used in Europe, from the pound, Swiss franc and Polish złoty to the Serbian dinar, Ukrainian hryvnia and Turkish lira, plus the US, Canadian and Australian dollars, the yen, the yuan and other major currencies.

Which countries use the euro?

21 EU countries, Bulgaria among them since 1 January 2026. A few countries outside the EU, such as Montenegro and Kosovo, use it too.

How do I convert leva to euro?

Use the lev to euro converter. The lev is fixed at 1.95583 per euro, so it isn't in this list of market rates.
